Crossfit for a cause at Linc Campus, Salt Rock

Crossfit for Charity event at Iron Angel, at the Linc Campus in Salt Rock raised raised R6500 towards the Project 500 charity.

Burden runs, ball slams, hand release push ups, clusters and many a burpee were conquered all in the name of raising money for Project 500 at last weekend’s Crossfit for Charity event at Iron Angel, at the Linc Campus in Salt Rock.

Owner of Iron Angel Crossfit Ballito, Gustav Nel said besides raising money through fitness with the challenges, the day was aimed at bringing the community together.

“It was an awesome success with a great turnout.

Food was provided by Olive & Twist, coffee and drinks from Wonderland and fitness and health apparel from House of Health and Beauty, Fortis mens wear and Viva Glam ladies fitness clothes.

There were jumping castles for the kids and Danceweb demonstrated their dance classes by having a kids dance-off,” said Nel.

“We raised a fantastic R6500 towards the Project 500 charity and we think and believe that our small event will help thousands of kids and young ladies.”

Project 500 is a Linc Sisterhood initiative.

The women of Sisterhood were issued with a challenge, use your unique set of skills to raise R500 or more.

Project 500 will sow into Project Dignity, who aim to reduce absenteeism and dropout rates in schools and increase opportunities for girls to complete their education with dignity, as well as the Linc Foundation Crisis Centre, currently operating out of Nkobongo Resource Centre.
