New colours and sports kits for the Nkobongo youth

"We are very happy with the new kit given to our teams and it will make a huge difference" - Philani Pityo.

The youth of Nkobongo were thrilled as Nkobongo Sports Club Development Association received new sports kit from the department of sport and recreation last Sunday.

President of the association Philani Pityo said they received kit for volleyball, soccer, netball and athletics.

“We are very happy with the new kit given to our teams and it will make a huge difference,” said Pityo.

The association has 34 soccer teams, six volleyball, 20 netball, eight basketball, two rugby teams and 54 athletes in its fold. Soccer legend and Nkobongo Madrid coach, Ajipha Ntamila, said all team leaders should take care of the kit and always maintain discipline within their teams.

“Discipline is the key in any sporting code, therefore they should know that without discipline they will go nowhere in this industry,” said Ntamila.

Nkobongo councillor Ali Ngidi announced that the Nkobongo sports field will soon be upgraded.

Construction should begin next year.

“As the youth of Nkobongo, you should take ownership of your area and engage yourself in positive things. Sport is one of the things that will take you forward,” said Ngidi.
