Mammoth 12km swim gets underway

Stop by Clarke Bay between 11am and 12pm on Wednesday morning to welcome them back to land after the swim

Early this Wednesday morning – while you were sipping your coffee – three men were preparing to dive into the Indian Ocean to test themselves with an epic 12km swim.

Salt Rock’s Jose de Charmoy, Ballito’s Mike Oberholzer and former local Andrew Stevens will swim 12km from Tinley Manor Beach to Clarke Bay in Ballito.

The trio will begin at 8am and expect to arrive in Clarke Bay between 11am and 12pm.

The three, not spring chickens anymore, are undertaking this swim in support of The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund.

If you would like to show your support for these three brave swimmers, make a donation to the Orphan Fund by transferring funds to ABSA account 9109 572 488, branch code 630229 with the reference 12km swim.

Stop by Clarke Bay between 11am and 12pm on Wednesday morning to welcome them back to land after the swim.
