Dolphins chalk up bonus point wins

The boys from Ballito scored seven tries on the day

The Great Railroad Brewing Company Ballito Dolphins returned to winning ways this past weekend with dominant victories over Queensborough.

The 2nd team cruised to a sterling victory, absolutely flattening their opposition 32-0 while the 1st team fought hard to take their game away from Queensborough by a margin of 37-20.
Dolphins’ flanker Zamani Mthembu told The Courier it was a fast paced, free flowing game.

“We headed into this game with our backs against the wall, having lost all three of our opening games it was time to shape up or ship out.”

The Dolphins raced out of the starting blocks, scoring a try in the opening minutes of the game and from there kept the pressure on and the scoreboard ticking over.

The boys from Ballito scored seven tries on the day with Juandre Wigill (2), Zamani Mthembu, Jacque le Clus, Sean Steyn, Muzi Luthuli and Wandile Mhlongo all getting in on the points.

Unfortunately captain Kenny Graney had a poor day with the boot but luckily this did not matter as the Dolphins took the game away from Queensborough on the turf.

Lock Neels Herman was named man of the match for his role as enforcer on the field, stopping the opposition in its tracks and breaking through their defensive line on multiple occasions.
“Our execution was spot on and a lot of our work in practice is starting to show now,” said Mthembu.

“The expansive brand of rugby that we are trying to instil in the team finally payed off, passes were sticking and there were beautiful offloads in contact.”
