An explosion of colour for Bloom
The colour run held at Sugar Rush Park last weekend was a huge success

A kaleidoscope of about 600 people of all ages walked, jogged and ran their way to the finish line at the annual Bloom Colour Run last Saturday.
The special needs school based in Salt Rock works with children with various disabilities including autism, down syndrome and low IQ. Since the school is an NPO, they rely heavily on donations and fundraising initiatives to keep afloat.
One of Bloom’s founders, Jess Roux said the colour run held at Sugar Rush Park was a huge success.
“The event is not only aimed at fundraising but also to create awareness around children living with special needs and to bring the community together.”
Jess said the school had reached its full capacity and that the founders are looking to expand their premises to cater for more children.
“We currently have 16 children who are separated into different classes according to their needs. All our children get individual attention.
“We are looking to grow and expand our premises, which is the objective of our fund-raising.”
The array of coloured powder, fun music and selection of food stalls saw friends and family have a jolly good time at the event.
