Dolphins face threat of relegation

Make sure you are at Sugar Rush Park next weekend to show your support for the Dolphins

The Great Railroad Brewing Company Dolphins lost both their games against the Westville Old Boys on Saturday.

Supporters were out in force, both to enjoy the rugby and sample some of the yummies on offer at the Food and Beer Festival in aid of Sables Creatures at Sugar Rush Park.

Unfortunately Westville’s second team proved to tough for the Dolphins, winning 29-19.

Then it was the turn of the first team, who played good running rugby and took the game to the opposition.

It was a see-saw affair as both teams traded the lead throughout the match but unfortunately the Dolphins’ passing out of contact let them down while Westville was very strong out wide, breaking over the advantage line again and again.

By the final whistle the score was at 29-19 to the Westville Old Boys.

“We made too many crucial mistakes and that let us down,” said Dolphins’ flanker Zamani Mthembu.

The Dolphins are currently sitting in the relegation spot on the log, just two points behind PMB Collegians, who they play next weekend Saturday, July 8th at Sugar Rush Park.

“We absolutely have to win that game, as the loser there will be relegated.”

So make sure you are there next weekend to show your support for the Dolphins and make your voice heard in their fight to avoid being relegated.
