Manor’s top cricketing talent honoured

The club will be celebrating its 20th anniversary during the 2017/18 season and is looking forward to a host of activities to mark the occasion.

Local cricketers were honoured for their performance over the season during Manor Cricket Club’s recent awards evening.

This function also served as the club’s annual general meeting.

The big winners on the night were Saieshan Logenathan, who scooped the T20 batting and bowling awards as well as the batsman of the year and also player of the season.

The bowler of the year went to Sashin Sadayan, while Ridwaan Mhlongo was the best 50 over batsman and also received the President’s Award.

M Brown won the best bowler in the 50 overs format and M Logenethan won the U16 batting award while A Rajkumar took the bowling award.

Club president Naren Singh said they were in a rebuilding phase.

“It is heartening to note that there are a number of talented youngsters coming through the ranks of the club, this bodes well for the future.

“We also believe our partnership with former Dolphin’s player Saidi Mhlongo, now of Sailor’s Cricket Academy, will help impart skills to our youngsters,” Singh said.
