Strong start for Manor cricketers
The Manor lads outdid themselves, putting on a massive 214 runs for the loss of just two wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Manor Cricket Club notched up a quick double victory in the Ilembe Cricket Union T20 league last Saturday at the Gledhow grounds.
These were the club’s first two matches in the T20 league.
The youthful Manor outfit was keen to make a big impression on the league and certainly looked the part with their new kit from Isuzu Gemini.
In their first fixture Manor A played Maphumulo, Manor won the toss and elected to bat first.
The Manor lads outdid themselves, putting on a massive 214 runs for the loss of just two wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Adesh Bageloo scored a brilliant 101 not out and Cameron Pillay made 73.
In reply Maphumulo was bundled out for 52 in 13 overs as Manor’s bowlers ripped into their line-up. In the feature match, the much anticipated Oceanville vs Manor A clash drew lots of interest from other clubs and a large gathering of spectators.

Oceanville won the toss and opted to bat, keeping Manor on the field.
Oceanville scored a strong 145 in their allotted 20 overs. Comfort Shange was the pick of the Manor bowling attack with figures of 3 wickets for 15 runs off three overs.
Chasing 146 for victory was a test for a youthful Manor team, who went about their task with an explosive 50-run opening partnership between Cameron Pillay (30) and Ali Sher (25).
With the loss of Sher, centurion Adesh Bageloo continued with his run fest, smashing the Oceanville bowling attack to all parts of the ground and scoring a quick-fire 50 which included six fours.
Manor continued to keep the runs ticking and were able to canter passed the score in the 19th over for the loss of only four wickets, giving them a well deserved win.
Now the Manor team is looking forward to the rest of the season.
