Dolphins rugby club off to a flyer

The Ballito Dolphins take on the South Coast Warriors this Saturday at Sugar Rush Park.

The Ballito Dolphins rugby club started their 2018 season with a show of forceful intent when they flattened the PMB Collegians.

The Dolphins went up against the Collegians at Sugar Rush Park on Saturday afternoon, where they took no prisoners.

The 2nd team took to the field first and while they took a while to get going, they eventually fought their way back into the game to claim a 26-14 victory.

After which it was the turn of the big guns as the Dolphins and Collegians’ first teams squared off on the field.

The boys in yellow and blue rocketed off the start, scoring two tries in the first ten minutes and did not let off the pressure. A dominant performance saw the Dolphins open their season with a 33-7 victory over a Collegians side that just could not keep up with the Dolphins’ pace, strength and passion.

The curtain raiser for the two league rugby games was the first Dolphins Hockey game of the year.

The ladies took to the field and provided a show of sportsmanship, with Dolphins 1 claiming a 10-6 victory over Dolphins 2.
