Thousands raised at Fishing Fun Day
The event raised over R30 000 for the The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund.
Dudley Pringle Dam came alive over the weekend for another Durban Waterproofing and Roofing North Coast Courier Orphan Fund fishing fun day.
A cloudy start did not deter the 100 eager anglers who hit the water from 5.30am in search of a bite.
When all was said and done, Martin Koekemoer walked away with first prize in the Power Hour competition for landing the biggest fish – a catfish of nearly 80cm.
Freddy Landman won the day’s selfie competition while Tyde Duncan was the lucky winner of a weekend away in the raffle.

Plenty of lucky draw prizes were up for grabs on Sunday, so much so that not a single entrant left empty handed.
The event raised over R30 000 for the The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund, a NPO supporting orphaned and vulnerable children throughout the Ilembe region, providing food, education and other essential items.
“A special thanks to our sponsors Durban Waterproofing and Roofing, Tongaat Hulett, Trappers and Farmer Watercraft, as well as the numerous others that sponsored prizes and attended the event. Every cent raised goes towards helping the most needy children in the place that we all share as home”, said an elated Pieter Naudé, a trustee of the Fund.
