Double blow for Ballito Dolphins
The Dolphins will be heading to Zululand tonight (Thursday), while their next home game will be against the Durban Mets on May 12.
The Ballito Dolphins ran into tough opposition this past weekend, when they butted heads with a powerful UKZN side.
The Dolphins’ two teams were unable to record a win, with the seconds being trampled 55-5 and the firsts losing out in a tight contest by 26-21.
The second team’s cause was hardly helped by the fact that they went into the match with 11 players injured, forcing them to field several unproven combinations. “We were totally outplayed by a very quick UKZN side,” said Dolphin’s chairman Kevin Murphy.
The first team game was a hotly contested affair, with two highly controversial calls going against the lads in yellow and blue, including a penalty try to UKZN and a missed knockon right as UKZN scored against the Dolphins.

The score at half time stood at 15-9 to UKZN.
“In the second half we managed to come back and turn things around a little bit, eventually ending on 21 to UKZN’s 26,” said Murphy.
