Gearing up for another Classic

This year the Classic will be held as a two day family festival, starting at 11am on Saturday, June 16.

Excitement is mounting for the 2018 Holla Sugar Rush Classic proudly fueled by Landrover Ballito, which is set to be one of the biggest MTB races for the year as they are expecting more than 1000 entries!

This year the Classic will be held as a two day family festival, starting at 11am on Saturday, June 16, with the Ales for Tails Craft Beer and Gin Fest with live music and the three kiddies’ races from 2.30pm.

The Sunday will see the five and 12km trail runs as well as the 19 and 45km MTB classic races with an option to do both the 5km run and 19km MTB race.

There will also be plenty of goodies to satisfy, including craft beer on tap and a great music vibe.

This year there will be medals for the kids’ race only.

“The money usually spent on medals will be donated to Gears 4 Ears instead as we feel hearing is far more important,” said Sugar Rush’s Gill von Buddenbrock.

The Gears 4 Ears King and Queen of the Mountain have been included in the prizes for 2018, sponsored by Laatz Electrical and Mr Auto Repair respectively. Both winners will receive a prized Polka dot jersey and R2,000 prize money
