Putting strong for drug rehab

Umhlali Country Club will play host to a fantastic golf day next month.

The Waynol Anti Narcotics Agency and Christian Manor will hold their fourball challenge golf day on September 7 to raise funds to assist them in the battle against drug and alcohol addiction.

To enter a fourball, or to sponsor one of the holes, will cost R2000 and there will be fantastic prizes up for grabs, an auction and a raffle. The evening will see live music and dinner at R150 per person.

This year’s special guest is Brian Mitchell, former boxer and lineal super featherweight, WBA super featherweight and IBF super featherweight champion.

“It is very important to note that besides being just ‘another’ rehab we have some very important community-based projects that we run,” said Waynol’s Grant Urquhart.

“We have a free out-patient woonga program that we run for the poorer community in which we are have huge success rates, we are part of the Local Drug Action Campaign and give talks and testimonies at schools and colleges all over KZN. Also, partnered with our church we identify and take on residents living in the streets of Pinetown into full care.”
