Golden Oldies netball champs crowned

After three months of blistering netball, the Golden Oldies have emerged as indoor league champs.

Ten teams entered the Footy indoor netball league at the start of June in search of league glory.

The teams had both men and ladies take part with players ranging from 15 to 45 years of age – proving that no matter your age, gender or skill level Footy accommodates all players that enjoy the sport.

The whole league season was filled with crazy laughter and friendly banter between the various teams as they took each other on every Monday night, while the children rode their bicycles and skateboards on the court next door.

The semi-finals and finals were no different and played in such good spirit, as the Ballito Beaches met the formidable Golden Oldies in a cracker final that had the vocal spectators on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

The Golden Oldies ended up taking the bragging rights for the season, winning the final 21-17.

Congratulations also to team Dynamite who won the Trophy final over Amazeballs.

“Thanks to everyone for a funfilled league season filled with so many laughs and some high level of netball played,” said Footy’s Kyle Crichton. “Here’s to the next season kicking off on Monday, August 27.”
