Dolphins wrap up another successful season at annual prize giving

The boys in yellow and blue traded their muddy kit for denims at Salt Rock Country Club to hold their annual prize giving evening amid much laughter and merriment.

The Ballito Dolphins Rugby Club had international rugby legend and former Springbok and Scotland player, John Allan as guest of honour and he spoke about the state of rugby as well as ideals on the field such as pride, discipline, goals and of course – fun.

In the second team the following players received awards: Morne Voges (most improved forward), Thulani Sibiyi (most improved back), Jared Riviers (forward of the year) and Dillan Bronkhorst (backline player of the year).

For the first team: Johan Holtzhauzen (most improved forward player), Michael Neysschens (most improved backline player), Danny Swarts (forward of the year), Victor Campher (backline player of the year), Brandon Jackson (biggest hit of the year), and Cameron Hamman (overall player of the year).

There were also some special awards for the players, including: Muzi Luthuli (both the coaches award and the long service award), as well as Leon van de Plank and Bhekani Dlamini who also received the long service award.

All in all it was a great evening packed with laughter, camaraderie and true Dolphins spirit.
