It has always been Kaylee's ambition to become internationally recognised for a sport and with extremely hard work and persistence.
Crawford College North Coast’s touch rugby star recently travelled to Malaysia to take part in the Junior Touch Rugby World Cup.
Kaylee Nel said it was an incredible experience.
“I cannot describe how overjoyed and grateful I was to be able to run onto the field knowing that I am representing my country in a sport that I feel so passionately about,” said Kaylee, who is in matric.
“Playing alongside my teammates from different provinces, and me being the only girl from KZN for U18 mixed, was an honour.”

“When you are facing teams such as Australia and New Zealand, whom you watch on TV and praise for their skills, you realise that all your hard work has finally paid off and your dreams have become a reality.”
The girls were thrilled to bring back a bronze medal.
“I will always cherish the few weeks in Malaysia and the great memories made will last a lifetime.”
