Annual Speedster race a huge hit – Ballito
The Speedster is the largest unofficial race on the North Coast.
The annual Speedster race through the streets of Ballito was once again a huge hit.
An impressive 120 athletes came together to tackle some of the down town roads and get together at Mo-Zam-Bik for an awesome dinner afterwards, all in support of Sables Creatures.
Race organiser Bev Livingstone said it was an amazing event and thanked all the runners and sponsors who came together to make this yearly event possible.

The Speedster is the largest unofficial race on the North Coast, run over the 4km time trial route which is fairly challenging and undulating, with a slight hill to the finish line.
The main sponsors are The North Coast Courier and Mo-Zam-Bik restaurant, who provide competitors with a meal of peri peri chicken and chips at prize giving, and runners/walkers receive quality running shirts.
Other sponsors include Re/Max Ballito, Delia Jay attorneys, Dischem, Liquor City and artists Beryl Engels and Steve van der Schyff who donated paintings for auction.
“With the money raised, we have been able to pay off R18 000 of the vet bill for Sables Creatures,” said Livingstone.
