Benjamin Habig, Cristiano Morgado and Dominic Lincoln clutched their way into the team to represent South Africa in Brazil later this month.
In their last outing at Zwartkops for the 2018 SA Rotax Max Challenge (SARMC) Karting Championships, the three delivered excellent results against world class competition.
The championship was run over four regional events in each region as well as four nationals, held at Idube in KZN, Vereeniging, Killarney in Cape Town and the finals at Zwartkops.

The SA Rotax Max Challenge is run in more than 55 countries around the world with over 15 000 competitors, and the Grand Finals are super competitive, as each country’s champion wants that coveted world championship title.
The three local racers for the KZN Kart Club shone and even though Cristiano Morgado had already sealed his seat during the Africa Open by taking the overall win in the DD2 Masters Category, he still drove like the true champion he is and finished 2nd in the SA Title chase.

Benjamin Habig went into the final round leading the SA Championship in DD2 and this weekend added both the KZN Regional Championship title for 2018, and the KZN Kart Club Championship in the DD2 class to his list of achievements.
Senior Max driver, Dominic Lincoln stamped his authority on the Class when he went into the final round leading the SA title race ahead of Jason Coetzee from Cape Town.
In an immaculately prepared kart, Lincoln – who has matured immensely this year, taking the SA Championship title – secured himself a seat to represent SA in Brazil.
This weekend, a determined Lincoln wrapped up the Senior Max KZN Regional title as well. Both Morgado and Habig have represented SA before, but for Lincoln it will be his first encounter with the best of the world.
The SARMC series for 2018 ended on a high for the KZN Kart Club and they are very proud of their newly crowned SA Senior Max Champion Dominic Lincoln, as well as Cristiano Morgado and Benjamin Habig who both finished a very close 2nd in the SA title chase in the DD2 Masters and DD2 respectively.
All three drivers were awarded KZN Kart Club Honours last week after the sun had set on the 2018 Karting Season.
