As the Commonwealth Karate Championships approach this weekend, North Coast fighting superstar Dzemil Muric is firing on all cylinders in pursuit of the Commonwealth under 21 crown.

The Protea fighter and Ashton college grade 12 pupil has been attending intense coaching seminars under World Karate Federation world licencee and Protea coach Brando Pillay.

“Dzemil is in the best form of his life and I am confident he is ready to be crowned Commonwealth champion of the world,” said the seasoned coach.

The grand event, which is being hosted by Karate South Africa (KSA), takes place at the Olive convention centre in the Durban

More than 700 top fighting-fit athletes from around the world will converge on Durban’s shores to do battle among the best of the best in the various categories (children, cadet, junior, senior and veterans).

“Protea karate team South Africa’s fighters are expected to dominate the medal count by the end of the championships on Sunday,” said tournament CEO Sonny Pillay.

Leo Cuitto, the KSA tournament director, said their commission was ready to deliver a world class event.
