Lifting up a good cause at Ballito wellness day

The Deadlifting for Charity event raised funds for The Linc Foundation.

Hardcore lifters showed their strength during a deadlifting competition held at The Well on Saturday.

Hosted by Alpha Lifestyle Nutrition, the Deadlifting for Charity event raised funds for The Linc Foundation.

Proving himself the strongest of the pack, 20-year-old Matthew King from Ballito walked away with the first position, lifting 250kg.

Daniel Pritchard and Dean Knezovich tied on 240kg.

Lezelle van Vuuren won the women’s challenge, lifting 160kg while Evan Erasmus (10) won the junior competition with a 10 repetition lift of 30kgs.

Alpha Lifestyle Nutrition’s Eduard Mostert thanked everyone who entered and said they raised about R3000.

“Special thanks to all the companies that offered their free services for the day: I Move Fitness Gym, SIR Group, Momentum, Justin Faber Media and graphic designer, Jordan Davidson and Nutritech,” said Mostert.
