Drak Descent victory for Ballito cyclists
Overall winner and defending champion Andrew Hill was just ahead of the pair in a time of 1.53.36.
Ballito Bicycle Co cyclers Andrew Johnson and Tyronne White returned victorious from the two day Euro Steel Drak Descent race held in Underberg over the weekend.
The two won the race as a team with Johnson finishing in 1.54.18 and White in 1.54.19 in a 465-strong field.
Overall winner and defending champion Andrew Hill was just ahead of the pair in a time of 1.53.36.
“It was a really a nice race and a good start for the year. The weather was perfect although it was raining on Saturday, but we managed to keep our lead,” said White.

He said the route was 40km on the first day and 48km on the second day.

White was taking part in the race for the third time and he came second as a solo in last year’s race.
“It was an amazing weekend. Lots of people from Ballito and besides the race, there was so much fun for me and my family. We will be going back next year to defend our championship,” said White.
The event drew a massive crowd to the Underberg and Himeville area and the Saturday afternoon FNB Drak Music Experience concert was headlined by The Parlotones.
