Big splash for Bloom at Midmar Mile

Get involved and help 109 swimmers who are tackling the Midmar Mile challenge on February 9 to raise funds for Bloom Special Needs School in Salt Rock.

The excited group are made up of 74 adults and 35 children which Bloom’s fundraiser Debbie Nicholson said was a fantastic turnout.

“We are so happy about the support we have been given from the swimmers. Each adult swimmer has to raise R1000 and each child under 18 must raise R500 for the school. If anyone out there would like to sponsor the swimmers, we would be so grateful,” said Nicholson, who will also plunge into the dam near Howick next month.

“We are particularly excited that our wonderful, local synchronised swimming coach Terri Wulfsohn will be swimming with us. Terri has multiple sclerosis and will be joining the three Bloom children in the disabled category.”

The Bloom children will be sitting in a little inflated boat and will be pulled across the dam by their swimming family and friends.

All funds raised will go towards the completion of the much needed computer room so that the little school can start teaching computer literacy to their special pupils.
