A sporting splash at Ballito Cable Ski Park
The first-time event was met with great enthusiasm.
A group of excited swimmers jumped into the Ballito Cable Ski Park dam for the 1,6 kilometre swim hosted by the Dolphin Gliders swim school recently.
The first-time event was met with great enthusiasm and Dolphin Gliders owner Niccy Rademan said they hope to make this an annual or even bi-annual event.
“We have the Ballito Cable Ski Park right on our doorstep and we want this event to be a fun space open to swimmers, athletes and triathletes in our community to take part in open water swimming and hopefully attract people from other areas as well,” said Rademan.

“The dam is big enough distance wise for a swim event yet small enough to feel comfortable to take on the challenge.
“We have young, up and coming swimmers from Dolphin Gliders as well as many other swim clubs in the area who can now experience open water dam swims for the first time in a safe environment.”
She thanked NSRI and the Ballito Cable Ski Park for their support.
