Monster bass landed at charity comp – Dorinkop
Anglers gaped open mouthed as avid fisherman Jonni Wills of Salt Rock brought in the winning bass.
A Goliath of a bass was pulled out of local waters on Saturday at the Farmers’ Bass Fishing competition at Dorinkop, in aid of St Luke’s Home of Healing.
Anglers gaped open mouthed as avid fisherman Jonni Wills of Salt Rock brought in the impressive 4.8kg/ 65cm bass – a lifetime record for Wills.
The winning fish netted him R2000 in prize money and was released unharmed to swim another day.
Three-year-old Daniël Naudé pipped his older competitors in the junior U16 competition with his winning 36cm bass.

Conditions were perfect for wetting a line as 32 anglers cast their luck upon the waters of two pristine farm dams.
After a full day of fishing and many happy anglers, R4200 was raised for the home for the mentally and physically challenged based in Kearsney, outside Stanger.
