Dolphins lace up for route tester
The runners started at 5am and tackled the 55km route.
It was an early start for more than 100 enthusiastic runners when Dolphin Strider’s running club recently hosted their annual route tester marathon to prepare for the upcoming Comrades marathon taking place Sunday, 9 June.
The runners started at 5am and tackled the 55km route supported by seven seconding vehicles who provided well-stocked water tables and refreshments along the way.

“The route tester is effectively a “dress rehearsal” for Comrades where the runners can get to test all their nutrition, shoes and kit.
“One of the key elements of the route tester is to treat it as a long, slow training run and to have fun.” said Dolphin Striders Shannon Clark who heads the clubs training schedule.
