Fun in the rain as Ballito Dolphins take on UKZN

Strong winds and an unexpected downpour marred the start of the Ballito Dolphins first team game as they took to the field for a clash against UKZN on Saturday.

While the first team walked off the field with a 36-21 loss, the seconds managed to enjoy the last bit of the dry conditions, which worked in their favour as they walked away with a 29-10 win.

The senior games followed the successful OK Foods Zimbali 7’s & Touch Tournament which kicked off at 9am.

Plenty of fun was had by all as the OK Foods mascot entertained the kids and spectators were treated to a wide variety of snacks for sale by the OK Foods team.

Man of the match for the seconds was Marvin Chakanyuka (forward player) and Devan van Zyl (backline player).

For the firsts it was Gary Cameron and Johan Holtzhausen (jointly forward player) and Michael Neysschens (backline player).

This weekend brings another away game for the Dolphins as they take on Westville Old Boys on their home grounds.

While the game was initially scheduled for Friday night, it has now been moved to Saturday.

Seconds kick off at 2pm, followed by the firsts at 3.30pm.
