Walking for a ‘furry’ good cause at Willow’s Winter Fun Walk
Valencia and Nadeem Andhee started the Willow's World Foundation when they adopted their two-year-old Boerboel, Willow from the SPCA two years ago.
Local residents put on their walking shoes, leashed up their best four-legged friend, and geared up for a ‘furry’ good cause when they joined the Willow’s Winter Fun Walk from Concha last Saturday.
Event organisers Valencia and Nadeem Andhee started the Willow’s World Foundation when they adopted their two-year-old Boerboel, Willow from the SPCA two years ago.
“We started this foundation to help give back to animal rescue organisations who do such good work,” said Valencia.
Entry for the five-kilometer family walk was a blanket and all proceeds were donated to local animal welfare organisation Sables Creatures and Phoenix Animal Care and Treatment.
Sixty-two people supported the event and over 100 blankets were collected for the animal rescue organisations with almost R 3000 raised from the various lucky draw and raffle prizes.
