Ride for the Rhinos at Sheffield’s Seaton Estate
The country market will be full of local flavour and festivities.
Local riders plan to canter up a storm of festivities for rhino conservation this weekend. The Ride4Rhino fundraising event will take place on Saturday, June 29 and will be run as a paper chase at Seaton Estate, Sheffield Beach.
Teams of four horse and rider combinations will ride a scenic and demarcated route to the beach and back.
The team closest to a predetermined time will win. The time will be leisurely but will include trot and canter.
Check points providing water and refreshments will be provided. A market will be held at Seaton clubhouse where you can watch the Ride4Rhino teams start and finish their paper chase to the beach.
The country market will be full of local flavour and festivities and will include a variety of food stalls including vegan fare, a beer garden, jumping castle and pony rides. Entertainment will be provided by Qadasi (aka David Jenkins) with his brand of Maskandi music.

A SAMA (South African Music Award) and two-time SATMA (South African Traditional Music Award) nominee, David will be joined on stage by Maqhinga Radebe.
The two have toured the USA, UK, Ireland, Germany and Asia and are fast gathering a following as they encapsulate influences from their idols, Johnny Clegg, Paul Simon, Phuzekhemisi and Mfaz’Omnyama.
Entrance is free and all funds raised will go towards Project Rhino to help with their anti-poaching efforts. Join them from 8am till 3pm.
