Junior cricket showcased in Ballito
Ryan Staats scored an unbeaten 95 to be named man of the match after guiding his team to victory.
The final event of the Dolphins School of Excellence (DSE) Under 11 T20 bash showcased strong junior cricket in Ballito and Umhlali this weekend.

Held between the cricket fields at Umhlali Prep and Ashton International College, 8 teams fought it out for the grand prize.
The competition was designed by the Hollywoodbets Dolphins to ensure a pipeline for professional cricketers of the future.

“The formal KZN Cricket Union structures continue to operate well under the guidance of Cricket South Africa. The DSE will be an additional platform that will add value to the formal pipeline through the support of our incredible KZN community and partners,” said CEO of KZN Cricket, Heinrich Strydom.

Over the course of 3 months, the teams have been playing each other in a league format, with the top 4 teams making it to the semi-finals.
In the first semi-final, the Phehlukwayo Patriots beat out the Zondo Zebras, while the Petersen Panthers advanced after taking down the Dupavillon Dynamos.

Continuing their unbeaten run throughout the series, the Petersen Panthers took the spoils under the lights at Ashton, after posting a mammoth 196 in their allotted 20 overs.
