Ballito gardener Lucky Hamadziripi shows class as MMA fighter

With an undefeated record, Hamadziripi's achievements reflect the hard work and dedication he has poured into his MMA career.

Ballito gardener Lucky Hamadziripi is determined to carve out a path as a professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter.

And so far he is doing a good job of it.

Fully aware of the challenges that lie ahead to achieve his goal, the 27-year-old Zimbabwean remains resolute.

“I work as a gardener to support my family while chasing my dream of becoming a top-ranked professional fighter,” said Hamadziripi.

Under the guidance of coach Guy Sheehan of Ballito Bulldogs, he is patiently honing his skills.

He recently secured a hard-fought victory in his third fight by TKO in the second round against formidable Lee Abubakke, who boasted an impressive record of eight wins and only two losses.

On July 9, the Ballito fighter took another step up the ladder by defeating highly ranked Sabelo Magadulela, who had previously represented South Africa and entered the fight with nine wins and five losses.

In his fight against Magadulela, Hamadziripi showcased a remarkable set of skills to claim victory in the second round. Sheehan said training Hamadziripi was a pleasure, noting his determination the moment he joined his dojo a year ago.

“He is one of the most committed athletes, currently preparing for the MFC SA featherweight title which will be announced soon. I hope he can secure a sponsor to assist. His talent is exceptional and the crowd loves him,” said Sheehan.

With an undefeated record in four fights, Hamadziripi’s achievements reflect the hard work and dedication he has poured into his MMA career.
