Runners conquer Rain Farm Hills to raise funds for The Rise Up Movement

The event offered runs of 4, 8 and 16 kilometres, with proceeds donated to the NPO which offers help to victims of abuse on the North Coast.

Around 150 runners channelled Kate Bush on Saturday, spending the morning ‘running up that hill’.

Cynthia Ngidi was the best women’s 8km finisher.

Competing in the Rise Up Movement Run – hosted by the Balwin Foundation at Rain Farm Game and Lodge – the runners faced a tricky up-and-down course.

Tessa Anne Molyneaux finished 4th in the 8km.

Luckily the weather was perfect and there were stunning views at every angle, often including wildlife, so the cramping calves were somewhat manageable.

Nkosiyokuthula Khumalo and Scott Parker finished 6th and 7th in the 16km run.

Carole Dobson was all smiles.

“We are very happy with the turnout and have thoroughly enjoyed the morning,” said Rise Up Movement founder, Josha Daniel.

“Thank you to the Balwin Foundation and Rain Farm and to everyone who came out for an early morning run.”
