Up-and-coming Tongaat cricketer fundraising for Indian tour

Keanu Naidoo is hoping to broaden his skills on the subcontinent in November.

Promising Tongaat cricketer Keanu Naidoo is hoping to take his talents to India, but needs help to do so.

The Curro Salt Rock 1st XI captain has been selected for a November tour to the subcontinent with EJT Cricket Company, a private academy. The team will play against Indian clubs and give Keanu and other touring members a chance to test their skills in different conditions against international competition.

Keanu has grown in confidence since making cricket a focus in high school. In that time, he has been a regular participant in the Dolphins School of Excellence, making representative teams from U15 to U18, as well as the provincial team last year.

Keanu is a batting all-rounder with a knack for big scores and important wickets – skills he will be eager to hone on the dry, big turning Indian pitches. The tour will cost R45 000 and he is seeking donations to help him make the trip.

“Any contributions, big or small, would be deeply appreciated. I would be incredibly proud to represent myself, my supporters and my community on this tour,” he said.

If you would like to help, contact Keanu’s mother, Logie on 084 311 9633 or via logienaidoo21@gmail.com.
