Hole-in-one for Orphan Fund at glamorous ladies’ golf day

Almost R50 000 was raised, while local NGOs had an opportunity to seek sponsorship.

Seven teams of glamorous gals teed off for charity at Umhlali Country Club last week, raising funds and spirits at the Women in Action Golf Day.

Hosted by Get It magazine in collaboration with The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund, the annual fundraising event raised an impressive R49 345 in support of the fund’s beneficiaries.

Seven teams took to the golf course, combining friendly competition with a shared goal of giving back.

Off the course, Orphan Fund beneficiaries enjoyed a day filled with fun, learning and pampering. Highlights included massages from the Lavita team, photography skills with Sam Basson of Precision Photography and a two-minute Shark Tank-style pitch session, where participants showcased their entrepreneurial skills to potential sponsors.

Judges included Sharleen Sanassyi of Araujo Attorneys, Candice Kassier (1st Princess of Mrs Queen of South Africa) and Christina Nadasen from Green Pen Accounting. Sunshine Ngwane, from the Sinikithemba Organisation in Groutville, won the pitch and received sponsored prizes.

On the leaderboard, Debbie Meyer, Paddi Reich, Glenda Hickman and Ailsa Drummond claimed first place with 107 points.
