Big strides for rescue dogs at popular Pints and Paws 5km

More than 200 runners enjoyed a beautiful morning out in aid of A Kintsugi Project animal shelter.

The Dolphin Coast Striders’ Pints and Paws 5km running event was a roaring success, raising R28 000 for A Kintsugi Project animal shelter on Saturday.

More than 200 runners took on the 5km course, which doubled as a beer-lovers’ tour. Participants made four stops along the route – Fiamma Grill, Concha Café, Dyk van Heerden Beer Table and BetterBond Beer Table – before finishing at the Huizemark Beer Table at the Striders’ clubhouse.

“This fundraiser will allow us to keep our veterinary account open, ensuring we can continue planned sterilisations and treat sick or injured rural dogs,” said animal shelter founder Stefi Robbertse.

“It means we can give rescued dogs a safe space to heal and recover, while also supporting their rehabilitation and giving them a real chance at adoption and reintegration.”
