Crawford sport stars honoured
Great sporting results for Crawford's talented pupils.
Crawford College North Coast celebrated its 2014 sporting successes at a gala function recently.
“The best way to predict the future is to create it – this is exactly what we did with regard to our sports strategy for next year,” said Crawford Principal, André Loots.
He informed the audience that CNC has renewed contracts with Shirley Riley from Swimfundi Swimming Academy and Roger Ferrandi from the Ferrandi Tennis Academy.
Two new staff members were also welcomed in the sports department.
Furthermore, the school is Sharksmart accredited and will use the fixture-pro system next year.
Loots continued to say that the school’s main aim was to ensure that they are serving the youth to accomplish something of significance.
He boasted of the 30 KZN and 11 South African representatives in 2014, which is a remarkable achievement for a fairly small school and he thanked the parents for their on-going support on the side of the field and to the students who continued to be dedicated and committed to their respective sporting disciplines.
“Change is a constant, cataclysmic change has become the new normal,” said Senior Deputy Principal, Les Nielson, CNC sport is changing in word and deed, theory and practice.”
Joining CNC on their journey are their new sponsors: the SMD Group.
A special thanks also went to Bruce Rencken and Tessa Woodley of the Ballito Lifestyle Centre for being sponsors over the last few years including 2014.
Although change propels us into the future, it was a time to reflect on and appreciate the sports stars of 2014, including the prestigious trophy winners: Sportsmanship (male) Matthew van den Berg; Sportsmanship (female) Kasia Kayat and Sports Person Jaco Nel.
