To make the sport side even stronger, Ashton is about to open various new sporting facilities.

Ashton’s sporting stars made the school proud as they competed all over the continent during the recent holidays.

Luca and Clayton Meyer represented the U18 South Africa team at the World Ice Hockey Championships in Cape Town and won bronze medals after beating Germany in a shoot out.

On the athletics front, Amy Naudé won the U17 girls 400m SA Title competing for KZN and won the U17 Girls’ Schools 400m title.

She is currently participating in the Africa Champs in the Ivory Coast.

To make the sport side even stronger, Ashton is about to open various new sporting facilities.

The new Legacy Indoor Arena is only weeks away from being opened, while the four netball/tennis courts as well as one dedicated tennis court complete with grandstands are not far behind.

The eight new cricket practice nets are progressing well, and this week the installation of new floodlights for both the hockey Astro and the cricket oval/rugby fields on the recently opened sports campus will begin according to Ashton managing director Joe Erasmus.

“The indoor arena which complies to international indoor hockey requirements will also serve as an indoor training area for action netball and indoor cricket and soccer,” said Erasmus.
