Ilembe produces top quality female cricket captains

Darnall Primary School's Onke Kubheka will represent her school in the national tournament in Gauteng from December 6 to 10.

Top quality female cricket captains are being produced by Ilembe primary schools with great consistency.

This is something the Ilembe Cricket Union president Desigan Pillay says he is very proud of and with that, announced the selection of the latest girls cricket captain.

Darnall Primary School’s Onke Kubheka will represent her school in the national tournament in Gauteng from December 6 to 10.

The U13 team captain was commended by Pillay who said: “This is the second year that Ilembe Girl’s Cricket has produced a KZN female captain. Briggs Wellman, chairperson of girls cricket team, must be commended for her excellent work with the girls, and Darnall Primary for promoting the sport and breaking the stereotype of cricket being a boys only sport.”
