First Ballito pop-up restaurant

An exciting new culinary adventure is about to hit Ballito in a big way.
Food blogger Corrinne Austin and private chef Tarnah Blane are excited to launch Ballito’s first ever pop-up restaurant on October 31 and November 1 at SMD Group Ballito.
A pop-up restuarant traditionally ‘pops-up’ for one day only and at a different location everytime. Guests are invited to have their taste buds tantalised with an exquisite six course food and wine pairing experience.
With names like Meridian, Haute Cabriere and brandy and desert wine liqueur being thrown around, the pop-up restaurant is sure to hit the spot.
The menu will be available on social media shortly. Blane and Austin said they intend to make the pop-up restaurant a monthly food adventure held in a different location and sporting a different theme every time.
“This month we are focusing on fine dining and paying tribute to local food and wine and to summer,” said Blane. The idea for the pop-up restaurant has its roots firmly planted in local soil as it was born when Blane and Austin partnered in the Mr Price Pro cooking competition earlier this year.
Besides the obvious sensory extravagance, the pop-up restaurant is worth supporting as 10 percent of the proceeds will be donated to local charities. Hearts that Hope children’s home is the chosen beneficiary for the first event. This is a charity that is close to Austin’s heart as she does part-time work for them.
“We would like to support a different charity every month,” said Austin. Interested charities can contact Corrinne Austin at corrinne@popupballito.co.za.
