Swinging and sliding for charity

Aerial artists to raise money for the SPCA.

Giving back to the community is always a noble exercise, but doing so while hanging upside down on a pole takes it to a whole new level.

Fitness fanatics from the world of aerial arts will be joining forces on November 30 at the Skye Aerial Arts and Fitness studio, Ballito for a SPCA aerial jam session from 10am to 1pm.

What does this mean? The enthusiasts of the poles, silks and aerial hoops will get together in their animal print outfits to share tips and tricks on the three aerial arts mediums, while raising money, blankets and food for the SPCA.

“This is my way of giving back to the community, while doing what I love”, said owner and instructor at Skye Aerial Arts and Fitness, Sheelagh Jane Francis, while giving her five-year-old Boxer SPCA rescue, Tom, a good scratch,

Skye invites you to make a donation to the cause or alternatively you could donate an item to be auctioned off on the day.

There will also be a company challenge, whereby companies donate R500 and challenge others in their field to match or better this.

In return, company banners, posters or flyers may be put up at the studio on the day and Skye will advertise the business on their Facebook page.

To get involved in the SPCA jam, phone her on 084 957 8692 or email skyesha3@gmail.com and help give homeless pets a better Christmas.
