Back to school time means the lunch boxes come out too and need to be filled every morning.
Both the parents making the lunch packs and the children eating the lunches tend to get bored with the usual sandwiches, fruit and juice.
To help families to make lunch boxes more interesting, Hirsch’s Ballito in conjunction with AEG, decided to hold a cooking course for kids last week.
“Children had a fun two hour session, learning how to make pancakes and also how to make their lunch boxes more exciting,” said Hirsch Ballito’s marketing officer, Lindy Gray.
Each child paid a R20 participation fee, which will go towards the planned Easter Egg hunt for Haven of Rest
“With cookie cutters, sprinkles, syrup, bread and cheese, the kids were fully equipped to use their imagination and design their ideal school lunch.
With school starting this coming week there will be no more rushing to think of ideas for the kids lunchboxes,” she said.
