Five tips to survive the month financially

How to make it through the month without using your credit card.

You know the feeling when you look at your bank balance in the middle of the month?

Shock, horror and disgust takes over as you try and figure out how you are ever going to make it until payday.

Avoid whipping out the evil credit card by stretching your cents with these five steps:

1. Stay single.

If you cannot live a solitary life, find yourself a sugar daddy or mommy. Or get a pet. A hamster is the cheapest.

Who can resist a cuddly, cute hamster?

2. Never go shopping. Ever.

Stay at home, you do not need a new pair of slops until they are literally falling apart and the bread bag clips cannot hold them together anymore.

Do not give into the shopping trap.

3. Stop paying to quench your thirst.
Tap water costs nothing, it’s non fattening and it is sugar and gluten free.
Just keep drinking that water.

4. Love your parents.
Visit your parents as often as possible. Go for breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea time and dinner.
They will be thrilled to see you and you get free food. Bonus.
In fact, live with your parents for as long as possible. It might be cooler for you to live on your own, but not so cool for your wallet.
Parents always want to keep you close, so do not leave.

5. Entertain yourself.
Going to the movies or a night out on the town is going to burn a hole in your wallet.
Rather read a book (which you borrowed), look at the stars, sing a song or watch your hamster run in his wheel.
Sing out loud.

Give it a go and soon you will be smiling when you see your bank balance, instead of crying.
Love your money, because you earn it.
