Cruising into summer

If you are looking for a fun, family orientated holiday, look no further than a cruise on the MSC Sinfonia.

If you like pina coladas and getting caught in the conga line, then you will be booking your ticket on the MSC Sinfonia quicker than you can say “Another one please!”

Then again, if you just want to get away from all your daily worries, drop the kids off where they will be happy for at least three hours and have a beer on an island, you will also want to read further.

Here’s a holiday that suits everyone from the little ones to the half deaf in-laws, a cruise on the renewed, revamped MSC Sinfonia.

For families, this is probably the best value you will get by far compared to any other summer holiday.

Besides the ridiculous amount of entertainment options available, you get to rest your head on an amazing bed in a classy room and you can eat food for 20 hours a day. It is all included in your ticket price on the MSC Sinfonia.

In the morning you can opt for a quick gym session in the sports centre or a game of tennis on the court on deck 13.

But who exercises while on holiday, right? Rather go for a massage or thermal suite experience in the Aurora Spa.

Grab some breakfast at one of the restaurants or buffet bars and then the pool deck calls for some well deserved lounging. Don’t feel bad about taking a nap on the comfy deck chairs, just wake yourself up with some time in the jacuzzi before digging into the hand-made Italian pizza and real gelato.

Take some photos and do some shopping before getting ready for another fabulous dinner and a night filled with non-stop partying.

If you want to kill some time before going to Pasha Night Club, then you should really try your hand at the Bingo where you could walk away with a smile and a wallet of dollar bills!

Cruise director Stephen Cloete pretty much sums it up like this: “No matter where you come from and what your interests are, there is something everyone can do, all the time.”

That is just what happens on the MSC Sinfonia. Wait until you step onto Portuguese Island and you will never want this holiday to end. The weekend cruises on the MSC Sinfonia caters more for families, with lots of entertainment specifically aimed at the young ones.

Those without any offspring will be elated to know that there is a dedicated children’s area which means you won’t be bothered by someone else’s little troublemaker while you are sipping on a cocktail on the pool deck.

The longer, four night cruises are more for the older crew, between 35 and 45 year olds who needs a week away to re-energise.

The cruise season starts in November and ends in May, but you will have to be quick to get a spot as these cruises are fully booked in a flash.

But one word of warning, hotels are fabulous, but if they are not your cup of tea then a floating hotel is unlikely to float your boat, as they say.
