Le Spice up your life
Warm fires and viby music warmed up a crisp winter's evening as guests savoured freshly made food under the stars.
“People told me I was mad trying to sell pizzas in Shaka’s Head, but the support from the community has been amazing,” said Le Spice restaurant owner, Rodney Philip at the launch of his new eatery on Friday night, July 8.
Warm fires and viby music warmed up a crisp winter’s evening as guests savoured freshly made food under the stars.
Describing Le Spice as a continental café/upmarket shisa nyama dining experience where you can sink your teeth into wood fire pizza, tikka chicken, bunny chow, fragrant curries and shisa nyama.
Philip said he has brought a little bit of Ballito to Shakashead.
Those who grew up in Pretoria might think they have been transported to a reinvented Casbah, minus the famous “blondie”.
Philip said he spent six months building up Le Spice from not much more than a container to the chilled outdoor spot it is today, boasting not only tasty food, but also a pool table and car wash.
