Exhibitions, entertainment, craft stalls at spring fair

There are only a few days left before the start of the Vodacom 4U Ballito Spring Fair which promises visitors a variety of exciting exhibitions, tasty treats and captivating entertainment, all taking place at Sugar Rush, Ballito from October 1 to 2.

“We have organised a really fantastic weekend out for the family, all taking place in one of the area’s most beautiful settings,” said event organiser, Gavin Horn.

“Everyone will find something to keep them entertained throughout the event. From the quality, handmade crafts and top-of-the-range property and vehicular exhibitions to some of the finest South African food and non-stop entertainment, this is not something you want to miss out on.”

Visitors with an interest in high quality machinery will enjoy the exhibitions by Landrover Ballito, BMW Auto Haus, Mercedes Benz uMhlanga, Mascor John Deer, Vespa and Hooked Up Motorsport’s jetskis and quads.

Anyone interested in local property developments will be able to chat to representatives from the G2 Construction and Mount Richmore Construction Developments as well as eLan Group members showcasing the latest Blythedale Coastal Estate Development.

There will also be a number of fantastic electronics on offer at the Vodacom 4U stand.

A beneficiary of the Vodacom 4U Ballito Spring Fair, LIV, will be selling a variety of their handcrafted merchandise including clothes, bags, accessories and jewellery, among others.

All the quality items are created by residents at LIV and surrounding community members with the funds from the sales going towards caring for the residents at LIV.

Make sure to catch the performance by LIV’s extremely talented youth choir taking place on Sunday, October 2.

There will be a number of retailers selling a range of interesting products from Ultimate Adventure Co, Little Beach Tribe, Kygo Woodworx, TNT Apparel, Minimi Atelier, Aroma Sense and Be the Flamingo.

Take some time out from shopping for refreshments in the Jager Brewery beer tent or enjoy some tantalising treats from Freddo Ice-Cream, Slush Puppy, Boerie Guys, Jenny’s Mini Donuts, Afros Chicken, Rush n Roll, Boerie Bites and Chip ‘n Dip.

There will be ongoing entertainment provided throughout the two-day festival including the class-act musical entertainment provided by top South African acoustic band, Serrotone, featuring James Robertson and Peter Guthrie – of Spoonfeedas fame – and long-time friend, Billy Kruger.

For those who enjoy thrilling two-wheeled action, this is your chance to witness two of the country’s top bikers performing their life-risking demonstrations, taking place twice daily. Red Bull FMX rider, ‘Sick Nick’ de Wit, will show why he is such an internationally-renowned freestyle motocross rider, while 10-time supermoto and trials’ champion, Brian Capper – famous for his daredevil antics, such as biking over the Moses Mabhida Stadium Arch – will keep everyone captivated.

A fully-equipped children’s play area is sure to be a hit with all youngsters under the age of 12, while those with a flair for treasure hunts can take full advantage of the ‘Dig 4 Gold’ challenge.

After buying a ticket, participants will enter a massive ball pit where they need to search for either a silver or gold coin, either of which will win the seeker a prize.

Those lucky enough to find the elusive gold coins will find themselves with a massive prize in the form of a cellphone, surfboard, hotel accommodation or other extravagant gifts.
