Clean and cook with a pinch of salt!

Here are five salty tips to use around the kitchen

Besides adding that little kick to any dish, salt also serves as a great helper around the house when it comes to keeping everything clean and hygienic.

Cerebos have given five salty tips to use around the kitchen so that you can enjoy healthier eating without all the pan scrubbing and smelly fridge problems.

  • Keep that new pan shiny

To prevent food sticking to new aluminium frying pans, cover base well with a thick layer of salt, heat very gently for about an hour, allow to cool. Remove salt and wipe – do not wash.

  • Burnt but not lost

Cover charred remains in your pan with salt and when cool, add cold water, leave to soak for a few hours before cleaning.

  • Healthy chopping boards

Rub wooden surface with a hall lemon dipped in Cerebos salt. For polished chopping boards use a cloth dipped in vinegar.

  • Fresh fridge

Cerebos and soda water will clean and sweeten the inside of your fridge and it will not scratch the enamel.

  • Banish smelly dustbins

To counteract unpleasant smells from dustbins, sprinkle the interior liberally with salt in hot weather and let it work its magic.

Now that everything is sparkling and clean, try out this delicious, healthy recipe:
