SlimeFest coming to Durban shores

The SlimFest will start on Saturday, April 8 and end on Sunday, April 9

The Nickelodeon’s SlimFest at uShaka Marine World next weekend is something not to miss.

The SlimFest will start on Saturday, April 8 and end on Sunday, April 9.

The theme park will be transformed into a green and orange paradise for an unforgettable weekend of epic entertainment and slimy silliness.

Hosted by Joey Rasdien and Nomzamo Mbatha, SlimeFest will see kids and families flocking to Durban to bask, battle and slither around in glorious green slime, while enjoying singalongs from beloved Nickelodeon TV stars SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora and Friends, Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol, and amphibious heroes, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Rounding off each day will be a concert featuring South African music stars such as Cassper Nyovest (8 April) and Mafikizolo (9 April).

The SlimeFest is one of Nickelodeon’s most engaging event franchises around the world, and they are delighted to partner with uShaka Marine World to bring SlimeFest to African shores for the first time.

“Combining Nickelodeon’s kids and family friendly ethos with our beloved TV characters, great music, star power and a host of slime-oriented activities, SlimeFest is sure to be a huge success,” said Okosi.

Mafikizolo will keep the crowd dancing.

“This will be no exception. In fact, we are looking forward to adding a whole new dimension to our fun in the sun offering in April,” said Khumalo.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a range of slime-related activities and games all day long in the Interactive Slime Zone, featuring a host of slime related activities from a slime blaster battle to a slime shower, a zorb ball slime pool and slime sumo, while character singalongs start at the Dolphin Aquarium from 9 am.

Each day is rounded out with an awesome 3-hour concert at Wet ‘n’ Wild, kicking off at 3 pm, and blending contemporary music and stars.

Tiny tots can look forward to games, treasure hunts and soft play in the pre-school zone at uShaka Kids World. Tweens and teens can enjoy skateboard workshops with professionals in action or even try themselves.

Tickets for SlimeFest are available for sale at Computicket and uShaka Marine World’s online.
