ENTER! #Savethewaves surfboard design competition

The Ballito Pro, Groundswell Surf Shop and The North Coast Courier are calling all artists, designers and creatives to design a surfboard to raise awareness about our #SaveTheWaves campaign.

You could stand in line to WIN a R3 000 Billabong Voucher as well s VIP passes to the 2017 Ballito Pro event.

The winning design will be transferred onto  a surfboard shaped by Johno Hutchison from Hutchison Handcrafted Surfboards that will be displayed at the Ballito Pro 2017.

The Ballito Pro’s #SaveTheWaves campaign is about educating beach-goers and ocean lovers about the dangers of pollution in our seas and in particular microplastics that harm our marine life and affect the underwater ecosystems. Together we want to reduce pollution, reduce, reuse, recycle and conserve our ocean.

To enter this competition, simply download the entry form from our website, create a design that creatively symbolises #SaveTheWaves and then submit your artwork on or before the 15th of June 2017.

RULES

• All designs must fall within the #SaveTheWaves theme which is about ocean conservation through recycling and minimizing pollution.
• Designs can be done in colour or black and white.
• Please avoid using 3D materials on your designs as this will not be able to be translated into a physical surfboard design.
• Designs must be done either digitally or physically on the designated ‘Surfboard Design Competition’ entry forms.
• Due to the winning design being produced on a physical surfboard, please ensure that your design doesn’t contain very small details that may be difficult to translate onto a surfboard.
• Due to the design being transferred onto the surfboard by hand it might differ slightly from the original design.
• The winning design will be chosen by a panel of judges
• All decisions regarding the winner shall be final and the Organisers shall not enter into any correspondence, dialogue and/or otherwise with any person regarding any aspect of the Competition.
• All entries must either be submitted by email (nicole@northcoastcourier.co.za) or physically handed into reception at the North Coast Courier offices (1 Ballito Drive, Ballito).
• Submissions will close on Thursday, 15 June 2017 and winners will be announced on Wednesday 28 June 2017
