PICS: North Coast artists in the limelight

Breath taking photographs and creative paintings took people on a journey through time at the ‘Through the Eyes of the Artist’ exhibition held last Friday at the Simbithi Country Club.

Organised by the Ballito Photo Club and North Coast Artists, the first exhibition of its kind on the Dolphin Coast saw a collaboration between artists and photographers of amazing pieces that were auctioned for charities which included North Coast Courier Orphan Fund.

In total R6955 was raised for The Orphan Fund.

Proceeds from a raffle and donated photographs went toward to the Ndlondlo Reptile Park who are fundraising for a new premises.

Ballito Photo Club chairperson Bebhinn Spoors said the overall three-day exhibition received much positive feedback.

“During the three days, we sold over R16750 worth of artwork.

“The auction on Friday evening was unfortunately not very well supported but our photographers were very generous and have donated the full proceeds of each piece to the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund.”

Orphan Fund Secretary Rose Stephenson said that while she was unable to attend due to being out of the country at the time, she was overjoyed at the generosity on display.

“It is so heartwarming to hear about the good people in our community rallying behind us. Thank you to each and every one who poured time and effort into this exhibition.”
