Local beauties lend a hand

Ambassador KZN is a community initiative that creates opportunities for the youth to build their confidence, help those in need and to learn how to start their own community projects

After four months of commitment to help make a difference, beautiful contestants of all ages showed off their best side at the fourth annual Ambassador KZN event at La Montagne recently.

Local model Karen Landman said Ambassador KZN is a community initiative that creates opportunities for the youth to build their confidence, help those in need and to learn how to start their own community projects over a four month period.

“We have seen some amazing projects this year. Little kids from as young as five years started shoe projects, some planted vegetables to feed their community, others went on beach clean ups or visited retirement villages and places of safety for young kids.

“Throughout all of this, we learned that no one is ever too young to make a difference,” said Landman, who also owns Simply Models SA.

“Our main beneficiary this year was Haven of Rest in Tongaat.

“They were thrilled to collect all the stationery, clothes, blinds and many other donations that was handed over to them. The blinds are already up in the frail care unit and the rest of the donations they received will be handed out by them during this week.”

She said all of their 60 contestants made them proud and that they are all excited to see the changes they brought about in their communities.

“We crowned some lovely winners and we are looking forward to seeing how they will carry their titles this year.

“We are excited to start this programme on a national level and will be doing our Ambassador Free State event in Bloemfontein soon.”

If anyone in the community would like to contact Ambassador KZN to collaborate with them, send a mail to info@ambassadorsa.co.za.
