Family fishing at Dudley Pringle this Heritage Day
Head down to the Dudley Pringle Dam this Heritage Day for a day of fishing fun at the Seeff / Tongaat Hulett Fishing Fun Day

The long weekend has arrived, and with it comes an event you just do not want to miss out on – the Seeff / Tongaat Hulett fishing fun day!
Hosted at the Dudley Pringle Dam on the Heritage Day public holiday, Monday, September 25, enjoy a day of fishing with the family – all for a good cause.

Running in partnership with The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund, the day will kick-start at 5.30am and end at 10am, with prize giving taking place at 10.30am.
Like earlier this year, the event is not a fishing ‘competition’ and there will be no measuring and weighing of fish.
The focus is on fun and affording fishermen the rare opportunity to fish the exceptionally productive, untouched waters of the Dudley Pringle Dam, which is not normally open to the public, for one day only.
The fishing fun day hosted earlier this year was a huge hit.
Anglers can target any species of fish in the dam (including bass, tilapia and barble) – fishing with bait or artificial lures (some conditions apply so make sure to read the rules when you enter).
A fantastic kids bass fishing clinic will also be held from 8am to 9am and a ‘biggest fish’ competition will be held from 9.30am to 10am, where fishermen have 30 minutes to catch the biggest fish.
A R5000 cash prize is up for grabs for the fisherman who manages to catch the tagged fish of the day.
The Ballito Lions Club will sell food and drinks, or alternatively, pack a picnic basket and enjoy breakfast on the lawn.
Specialised Rescue will again be on hand to ensue general safety at the event.
Online entries have closed, however you can enter on the day, or at Hook Line & Sinker Ballito or Salt Rock.
Kick boats, paddle ski’s and small inflatable paddle boats are allowed, however no motorised boats or sneaker motors will be permitted.
The cost for bank anglers will be R100 and R150 for watercraft anglers.
See you there!
